Understanding Dull Skin

Dull skin can be tricky because unless we know the cause of our dull skin, it can be hard to know what to do to change things.

But once we do, for example, we might have neglected the exfoliation (dead skin cells can build-up on the skin, causing dullness, and need to be removed with an exfoliant once or twice a week), we’ll know what to do to reverse the dullness.

Managing Dull Skin

Whilst it might be tricky to work out the cause or causes of our dull skin (yes, they can be multiple), the good news is, luckily there are things we can do that are part of a good skin care regime, that can produce instant results.

Drinking enough water, eating a rainbow of differently coloured fruits and vegetables and avoiding skin sapping habits such as smoking and drinking excessive amounts of alcohol will all help us get the glow.

But the one thing we can do for instant results is gentle exfoliation. Dull skin can be caused by a build-up of dead skin cells, so sloughing them away will help to reveal the fresh new skin cells underneath. (Be careful of harsh exfoliants though if your skin is sensitive or prone to acne or rosacea).

Managing Dry Skin

Dry skin doesn’t have to make you a slave to the moisturiser and glass of water. Using products designed to nourish the needs of dry skin, like our gentle cream cleanser and day and night time moisturiser, will help to make caring for dry skin a breeze.
